   When I got to class, we were introduced to Maya and learned some of the basic functions (how the buttons work/ how to make shapes).  The instructor ten demonstrated how to combine objects to form one whole object, so we learned how to connect a sideways cylinder to a cube. Near the end of class, the instructor explained to the class the poor animation quality of the dragon creatures in the film Avatar. The way the creatures flapped their wings was unnatural, compared to a real flying creature such as a bat (she showed us on youtube). She stated that you have to watch for these details when animating.  43 hours
